Associate Coach:  John Baker
Associate Coach:  Richard Hookong

Head Coach:  Phil Youngclaus
Assistant Coach:  Gary Hirst
Assistant/Goalie Coach:  Loring Brown

This team will participate in multiple Tournament type Jamboree weekends.

After a successful Mite travel season with Head Coach Phil Youngclaus, Coach Youngclaus moves up to the Squirt Level where he will build off the teams success and have another great year of development.  The team will participate in 3, possibly 4 tournaments and play in weekend Jamboree style events where 4 teams play each other in half ice games.

After an explosive Mite season, this team is ready to take over in Squirt A Tournaments!  Coach Phil Youngclause will return as Head Coach and he, along with Coach Hirst and Coach Brown will continue to develop a strong and competitive team.  Their focus this year will be on individual player development within the framework of team offensive and defensive systems.  Building on their spectacular overtime Championship win in the President's Day Tournament, as well as second and third place Tournament finishes and multiple Jamboree wins, this year's Tournament play will include the SYTHL, My Hockey and SAHA sanctioned events.  We are looking forward to several exhibition games around the Southeast where we will definitely meet up with some great competition.

BANTAM A2 BANTAM TRAVEL

Head Coach:  Joe Cotnoir
Assistant Coach:  TBD

Head Coach:  Chris Jones
Associate Coach:  Dave Sprott

This Fire team will compete in the A2 Division of SYTHL for the season.  The team will be an open birth year team with no weight being placed on the players' age or experience at the Bantam Level.  Simply put, we will pick the right players for the team.  Our expectation is to also play 4 to 5 Tournaments (approximately 1 every 1.5 months) depending on how our league schedule pans out;  accompanied by a competitive exhibition schedule outside of SYTHL.

This team will participate SYTHL League A or AA dependent on talent level.

The Atlanta Fire Bantam Travel hockey team will compete in the SYTHL hockey league for the 2017/2018 season at the level that is going to challenge the team within their development.  This will be a mixed birth year hockey club comprising the best talent that isn't selected for the National Bound hockey team.  They will be under the watchful eye of second year Fire Coach Chris Jones who is just two years removed from winning the SYTHL Bantam Championship.  Our Bantam Elite National bound team will share the ice on Wednesdays with our Travel team in a high performance style practice incorporating organizational structure, team play as well as repetition optimization.

Tentative Practice Schedule
Mondays at 8:00pm - Half Ice
Wednesdays at 7:15pm - Half Ice

Teams Expected to Play in Projected Exhibition Series
As mentioned we will compete at the A2 level in SYTHL.  Once the league teams are announced we will have a better understanding of the team pool.  Our expectation is to also play several local exhibition series/games around the greater Atlanta area (MIC, ICE, Duluth, Kennesaw etc.).

Projected Tournaments
To be reviewed once the team and divisions are announced.  All tournaments will be played within driving distance, with no flight travel required.  As mentioned, we project a tournament every 1.5 months.  Last year we competed in two Charlotte Tournaments and a Charleston Tournament as an example.  Our goal will be to book these tournaments as far in advance as possible to realize the most multi-tournament discounts.

Projected Tournaments
Labor Day - Ellenton Ice - Tampa, FL
Palmetto State Cup - Charleston, SC (Oct 6 - 8)
President's Day weekend - Location TBD (Jan)
MLK weekend - Location TBD

Exhibition Schedule
The team will play a competitive exhibition schedule around the Southeast (primarily the greater Atlanta area).  We will work to ensure that our schedule is competitive as well as balanced month to month.  Our hope is that there will ne other teams in our area at our competition level to supplement our travel schedule with as much local play as possible.  This will be determined once the local rinks finalize their teams they will be competing with.

Exhibition Schedule
This Bantam team has a major purpose to ensure we are continuing the development of each player moving into the 14U age category.  The team will share the same vision, structure as well as style of play with the Bantam Elite National Bound team, with the goal to continue to develop all of our 14U hockey players.  The cohesive coaching unit will make certain players are able to learn, understand and identify all key hockey situations on the ice.
